Tonight was Nico's Star Wars birthday party with his friends. 19 kid :)Light sabers for the kids after they completed the Jedi Training course.

Party favors and a certificate for completing the Jedi Challenge.

The Darth Vader pinata was split open with the first hit!!!!

They had to pop a balloon by sitting on it!

Walk across a thin beam carefully so they don't fall into the lava pit.

It was such a fun night! Thank you to my friends Katie and Lauren for staying and helping!!!!

Nico turned 7 on January 24th. At the age of 7, Nico like Star Wars, Legos, beyblades, and snuggling with his mom and dad! He can put together any Lego set he is given. He is in first grade and loves school. He is so sweet and sensitive. Happy Birthday big guy!

This year I am very thankful for many things! One of them being my family and Justin's family. I am so lucky to have such an amazing family and to have so many people who love my boys. This year Corey, Robyn and their 2 kids came home. It was so fun to see Ethan and the big boys play together, we even had a successful sleepover!!!!! Evan and Anna also had a lot of fun together. This map on the floor of the State Building showed all the counties in Ohio. I had to step in the two counties that I am from!

Abraham Lincoln's body lay to rest on this floor in the State House for 8 hours in his coffin on his way back to Illinois for his burial. It is recorded that over 50,000 people walked by him that day when at the time Columbus' population was ONLY 20,000.

I had the opportunity to go Columbus today to visit the Ohio Department of Education building to talk to Ohio's Assistant Superintendent. We were able to have a very candid conversation and ask any questions we had about our educational system and laws and bills in Ohio. As if that was not cool enough, we then walked to our Capitol Building, went on the House Floor and sat in the Speaker of the House Chair!!!! Then we went and sat in a senate session, saw our new State Senator get sworn in and was then recognized by the Senate for all our work. WOW it was such a memorable day.

We went to Tennessee this weekend to meet Shelley and Johnny. It was a very fun weekend! We went up in the mountains, hung out in the beautiful outdoors, Go Cart racing, and shopping. We called Mary along the way and she joined us for the weekend too!!

I just completed the Mudathalon in Cincinnati with 2 friends. It is a 5K with over 40 obstacles and is mainly done in the mud! Justin met us up there at the finish line. It was a muckin' good time!!!

My brother, Corey, got us tickets to the Monster Jam Truck show. It was soooo much fun. We kept it a surprise until we were in the car on the way downtown. The boys were screaming in the car when we told them. I love having a fun with my family. We have had a great summer and this was the top of the cake.

Today, Shannon and I took the boys downtown to see a few of the Sprint Nascar Haulers. It was a lot of fun and HOT! The race cars are on the top of the trucks. Nico's favorite racer is the M&M's car, Kyle Bush, and Brooks loves the Home Depot car, Joey Logano.

I LOVE fireworks. This year we all loaded up in the car and drove to Indiana to get some real fireworks. Last night we had the family over and some neighbors to set them off. It was so fun to have our own show! Thank you to Justin, Pete, and a few other men for the wonderful night!!

I married my best friend. Today, Justin still surprises me and makes me incredibly happy. Today is our 7 year anniversary, and I woke up to find 7 bouquets of flowers in the kitchen!!!

We spent the day by taking all 3 boys to the Cars 2 movie, an afternoon nap, and then out to a nice evening. I love you Justin!

Happy father's Day to all the wonderful and amazing dads out there. Justin is such an amazing father to the boys and a very caring and wonderful husband. We surprised him with an overnight at The Great Wolf Lodge this weekend!!!

The boys really made a splash at the water park. We couldn't even get them out of the water to have dinner. We wanted to experience it all, we went down all the water slides, tried all the restaurants, and played the Magiquest magic game. Evan LOVED going down the big water slides, he was not scared at all!!!

Brooks turned 4 today!!! We had many different plans for the day, but in the end we all stayed home and relaxed. It was a great day.

We had pizza and cake with my parents, Laura, and Uncle Pete. Brooks got so many great gifts, he couldn't decide which he wanted to take to bed.

My friend, Laura, made the cake. It is a lego piece with lego army guys, it was soooo delicious.

It was pouring rain today!!!

WOW, look at all those temperature gauges. This was for 1 room!

This was the jail cell. There were 4 rooms with 3 beds in each room.

This was a submarine that went along with the battleship.

They still use this battleship today to land helicopters and jets for the armed forces.

Today we went and toured the USS YORKTOWN battleship. It was AMAZING!!!! Walking through the battleship's narrow halls and seeing all the different quarters for bomb making, dental work, doctor's rooms, and even the jail cells really makes someone appreciate what the men and women who serve in the Navy do and the living conditions that they endure for months at a time. In the bakery, we saw a recipe for making chocolate chip cookies for the ship, it took 500 eggs!!!

We could not get enough, just trying to image living in these ships and going to combat. There was a very small closet that was made up just for the ill and injured during combat. There they were cleaned up and dressed and kept away from the rest of the crew members. Thank you to all those who serve our country.

Charleston, SC

This week is my spring break. Justin and I loaded up the family and drove to Irmo, SC to visit Mary and Cam. From there, we loaded back up with Mary and went to Charleston for a few days. This was our first day. Beautiful, but cold :) The battleship for Yorktown is right outside of our window of the resort!!!! We hit the downtown area today and saw the water. Tomorrow we are off to Fort Sumter!

Nico came home last night with a homework assignment to celebrate the 100th day of school. We counted out 100 M&M's and then he answered the questions on the worksheet. I am so amazed at how much he has learned this year in kindergarten. But, the best thing of all is that Nico said he wished he had 100 "of my mom"!!!!!!

Nico started soccer tonight! Justin is one of the assistant coaches, they are both very happy. Nico is on a team with nine 5-year old children. Despite the heat and sun, they all kicked the ball and listened to the coaches. I can't believe Nico is old enough for sports. Lets the Games begin:)

Justin and I had a big weekend planned to be in Colorado for my friend's wedding. After the trip was cancelled because of engine trouble, we decided to have a romantic weekened downtown. His mom got us an AMAZING suite at the Hilton, we ate at Bootsys, and walked around the square. I love Justin very much! I had such a great time with him this weekend. We spent a fun filled week in Myrtle Beach, SC with Justin's family. Traveling with 3 children is an adventure in itself!!! The boys did a great job traveling and we all got to hang out and have fun. I love the beach :)

I have not made any posts lately because I am still healing from my surgery. The surgery went well and I have had LOTS of help from both sides of the family with the boys. The hardest part is not being able to hold Evan or just play on the floor with the big boys. Justin has been amazing and is a big help with the everyday things around the house. My parents have really helped out everyday by picking the boys up from Shellia's and taking them to golf and swim lessons. My close friends have arranged to bring us dinner. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I am very blessed to have so many people in my life who care. I hope to have some updated pictures soon!!!!

Nico's Graduation

Nico had his graduation ceremony today from Pooh's Corner. It was soooo cute!!! All the kids walked into formation to the graduation theme music. Every child had their name announced and was then given a diploma. Afterwards all the families were invited to stay for cake and punch. I am so proud of Nico and how much he has grown over these past 2 years at Poohs. This is a great school! I hope they are ready for Brooks :) Tonight we all went out to dinner with my family to celebrate, Evan got into the mood too!

On Saturday, my family and students along with friends particpated in the Butterfly Walk for Cancer Free Children. My class and Katie's class created butterflies to put on trees along with a sign honoring my cousin, Ellie. We were the second largest group and had a blast!

I had my Mother's Day Tea at Nico's school this morning. It was so much fun. The kids sing to us, make us an adorable place mat and picture frame, and then there is a chocolate fountain with goodies to eat! To start the day off, I took Nico out to breakfast at my favorite coffee spot. He had a warm cinnamon roll and a smoothie while I enjoyed a nice vanilla latte. It was a great morning!
