This map on the floor of the State Building showed all the counties in Ohio. I had to step in the two counties that I am from!

That big chair is the Speaker of the House!

I think I could make a good politician???

Abraham Lincoln's body lay to rest on this floor in the State House for 8 hours in his coffin on his way back to Illinois for his burial. It is recorded that over 50,000 people walked by him that day when at the time Columbus' population was ONLY 20,000.
I had the opportunity to go Columbus today to visit the Ohio Department of Education building to talk to Ohio's Assistant Superintendent. We were able to have a very candid conversation and ask any questions we had about our educational system and laws and bills in Ohio. As if that was not cool enough, we then walked to our Capitol Building, went on the House Floor and sat in the Speaker of the House Chair!!!! Then we went and sat in a senate session, saw our new State Senator get sworn in and was then recognized by the Senate for all our work. WOW it was such a memorable day.
